The
Advantages of Video Surveillance
Video surveillance has been around almost
since television cameras became portable.
It is a way of keeping tabs on employees,
locations, entryways, and more that is becoming
more widespread every day. Its original purpose
was safety, and that continues to be the main
reason for its use today even as video surveillance
moves quickly into home usage.
Businesses use video surveillance systems
to monitor employees handling cash, to provide
alerts in case of fire or other disasters,
to observe employees in areas containing valuable
inventory, and to monitor approaches to buildings.
Video surveillance is also used in department
stores to reduce shoplifting and in banks
and convenience stores as a deterrent to robbery.
Parking lots and garages, remote areas on
college campuses, and hospital basements are
all good places for video surveillance cameras
as are the locations of ATMs.
DNG Outdoor Video Surveillance
DNG
outdoor surveillance video cameras are in
general use in all types of business and personal
settings. They can be as simple as a single
camera located outside the front door of your
home so that you can see who's ringing the
bell or as complex as the system used at a
major sports stadium. However they are deployed,
such outdoor surveillance video systems are
designed to provide up-to-the-minute views
of activity, normal or suspicious, on a given
property.
DNG cameras are mounted outdoors and can be
visible or hidden, depending on the situation.
Visible cameras are often used to deter would-be
burglars, and posted signs announce their
existence. Hidden cameras are designed to
observe activities and, in some cases, to
apprehend suspicious individuals before they
are alerted to the possibility of detection.
