Proximity
Card Access Reader
A complete card access solution will generally
contain a controller or panel, a door locking
mechanism such as a door strike or magnetic
lock, a proximity card reader or a keypad
(to unlock the door), power, and wiring. The
card reader or keypad is used to get in the
door, but you may also need a mechanism to
exit - this can be accomplished using a button,
called a press to exit switch, or a motion
detector. Finally, if a proximity card or
keytag system is used you will need to purchase
these units for all of your users. Also you
may want a battery backup and/or a fire relay.
Residential
Let DNG install a single-door proximity access
control system in your home or small office,
and grant access to up to 25 users. This compact
standalone system consists of a wall-mounted
reader/controller unit and encoded proximity
tags, and works with the electric door strike
or deadbolt on your door. DNG will install
this unit for a reasonable cost professionally
and efficiently.
To program the system, simply hold the master
tag up to the reader/controller and then use
the master tag with the reader/controller
to program up to 25 total tags. The system
assigns a unique code for each tag, out of
a trillion combinations. The proximity tags
are powered from the RF signal transmitted
from the proximity reader. They are totally
sealed, measure 2 1/8" x 1 3/8"
x 9/32", and are ideal for clipping onto
a key chain.
To
open a door, the user simply holds the tag
in front of the wall-mounted proximity reader,
which unlocks the door's electric door strike
or deadbolt. A single tag can be conveniently
programmed to open any combination of doors
on the system. Because each tag is unique,
it cannot be duplicated. Tags can be deleted
if lost, stolen, or no longer in use.
This
system features programmable unlock duration
and includes 6 proximity tags (additional
tags sold separately). The weatherproof
reader/controller unit measures 4-1/2"
H x 2-3/4" W x 5/8" D and is designed
for internal or external use.
